My name is Caroline Benoit and I am a junior in high school at Louise S. McGehee, an all-girls school in New Orleans, Louisiana. I have attended McGehee since Pre-K. I live in Belle Chasse, Louisiana with my parents, my younger brother Ethan, and my adorable yellow lab Cuddles. I am an enthusiastic student and I enjoy learning new things. Some of my best traits are being a good problem solver and being dedicated to everything I do. I am always excited about what I am doing and put 110% into whatever I am doing.
I enjoy are cooking, baking, reading, traveling and volunteering. I learned my cooking skills from my dad, who is an amazing cook. I have been cooking and baking for many years now and although I learned most of my skills from my parents, I have also taken a few classes including one at Charm City Cakes, the bakery from the TV show Ace of Cakes. I enjoy volunteering because I am able to give back to the community that I am a part of. I have volunteered with several organizations including Habitat For Humanity, a festival in my hometown called the Orange Festival, a festival celebrating the citrus industry in Plaquemines Parish, Second Harvest food bank, and my local church.
I am very involved at school and I am a part of many clubs, including National Art Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, Beta Club, and Melange, McGehee's literary magazine, of which I am the editor. I also am a part of the Mock Trial team. Because of my interests in Mock Trial and the law, I intern at a law firm over school holidays to gain work experience. I am also a member of the track team. This year, I participate in the Peer Support program, a program in which juniors and seniors act as mentors for the eighth grade. I am dedicated to my studies and I always strive to do my best inside and outside of my classes.
